Portland Dental Care, is a leading dental care practice in Portland, Connecticut. We understand the importance of good dental hygiene and oral care and are committed to providing you the best care in a fun, pleasant environment. Our office has been a staple in the community for over 40 years. We strive to not only provide quality care but also lasting relationships with our patients and the community.
Our Dental Care Group is proud to offer you a long standing, mature staff with a reputation for excellence. You can be confident that we are devoted to the highest standards in the profession of dentistry. In fact, our doctors are members of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Our doctors also teach in the Hartford Hospital Dental Residency Program. The entire clinical staff regularly participates in continuing education programs to update their knowledge and skills.
OUR SERVICES
Dental Hygiene / Routine Exams
The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends two routine follow up prophylaxis visits per year. Necessary x-rays, intra-oral and extra-oral examinations are done to rule out any pathology.
Dental Fillings
Both amalgam (silver) and composite (tooth colored) restorations are done depending on the needs and wants of our patients.
Implants
Implants, a leading replacement for missing teeth are utilized to save adjacent teeth and stabilize occlusion.
Teeth Whitening / Veneers
All cosmetic procedures are performed to provide the best possible smiles to our patients.
Crowns

Different types of crown restorations (porcelain to gold, zirconia, all porcelain, all gold) are done to restore broken teeth to normal form and function.

Dr. Peter Gletzakos
Dentist/Owner
Dr. Peter Gletzakos graduated from Boston University in 1995. Did his residency at Hartford Hospital and has been a leader in dentistry in the state of Connecticut for over 20 years.
Dr. Shashi Ghodake
Dentist
Dr. Shashi Ghodake graduated from New York University in 2003. Did her residency at Hartford Hospital and has been in practice for over 20 years.
Dr. Yiannis Gazis
Dentist
Dr. Yiannis Gazis graduated from New York University in 2022 and completed his residency at Hartford Hospital. He received the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award, which is presented to a fourth-year student who has demonstrated superior performance in providing comprehensive oral care and dental practice administration. Yiannis enjoys time with his big Greek family, is an avid sports fan, and will be getting married to his fiancé, Anna, this October. They will be a little family of three with their 14-year-old mini dachshund, Eddy.
